Do American people not wear much makeup?

I’ve just seen a number of Americans and they don’t.They also seem really ‘jeans and t-shirt’ kind of people. Is this the case over there too?

Also, I always see questions on here like ‘oh is foundation, powder, concealer and mascara TOO much makeup?’ lol and it’s just the general attitude that I seem to pick up.

Is this true?
